dYdX Buyback Rate Has Increased to 75%: What is the Price Impact?

The dYdX community has made a significant transformation in the token economics of the platform by approving that 75% of protocol revenues will be allocated to DYDX buybacks. According to a statement from the dYdX Foundation, the community unanimously accepted the long-discussed new buyback proposal. With this development, a large portion of the protocol's revenues will now be used directly to buy back DYDX tokens from the market. This decision is regarded as one of the most comprehensive steps taken to strengthen the economic structure of the platform.

Under the previous governance model, only 25% of protocol revenues were spent on DYDX buybacks. With the approval of the new proposal number 313, this ratio has been increased to 75%, providing a radical improvement in the buyback policy. The proposal was supported by 59.38% of the community. Additionally, 5% of the revenue will be transferred to the Treasury SubDAO and 5% will go to the MegaVault. This change demonstrates the desire of the dYdX ecosystem to more closely link token-focused incentives with platform performance.

When combined with the buyback program initiated on March 1, 2025, and the token emission reduction implemented in June, it is clear that the new ratios serve the goals of tightening the circulating supply and increasing network security. The dYdX team stated in an announcement made via X, "From today onwards, 75% of protocol fees will be used for DYDX buybacks." This step is believed to create a more stable price structure and a stronger ecosystem for DYDX in the medium and long term.

According to CoinGecko data, the DYDX price has also shown a 3% decline due to the pullback in Bitcoin prices. It is thought that this increase in buybacks could influence price adjustments. At the time of writing, DYDX is trading at a level of $0.3. Considering the circulating supply and the strong fundamentals of the project, there are critical price levels and market dynamics that investors need to take into account.
