Borsa İstanbul Opened with an Increase

Borsa İstanbul has given hope to investors with a strong opening. The BIST 100 index reached 10,655.66 points, marking an increase of 79.21 points and 0.75 percent compared to the previous close, indicating that investors are in a positive mood.

Sector Performance and Notable Stocks

The banking sector, which attracted the attention of investors, supported the index with a value gain of 0.87 percent, while the holding index also displayed a positive picture with an increase of 0.45 percent. Among sector indices, mining emerged as the biggest gainer, rising 3.92 percent. On the other hand, the tourism sector became the only loser, declining 0.22 percent.

Analysts' Assessments

Analysts emphasize the importance of today's domestic announcement of the current account balance, as well as the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Germany and weekly mortgage applications in the USA. According to technical analyses, the BIST 100 index has resistance levels at 10,700 and 10,800, while support levels are at 10,600 and 10,500.

Expectation for Potential Current Account Data

The Payment Balance data, to be announced today by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB), is eagerly awaited by investors. According to the expectation survey conducted by AA Finance, 18 economists anticipate a surplus of 1 billion 460 million dollars in the current account for September. Current surplus expectations range between 850 million dollars and 3 billion 600 million dollars. Economists project that the current account deficit for the year 2025 will be 21 billion 316 million dollars.
