The BIST Food Index is a special stock market index created to monitor the performance of companies in Turkey's food sector, covering a wide area that spans from agriculture to the table. This index is directly affected by factors such as consumption habits, raw material costs, and fluctuations in export markets.
A total of 45 companies are traded in the BIST Food Index, and 10 of them have a market value of 12 billion TL or more. Beverage producers, which lead the list, stand out among the companies that significantly shape this index.
Coca-Cola İçecek is in a leading position in the BIST Food Index with a market value of 153.9 billion TL. The company experienced a decline in revenue and profit last year, and sales remained flat in the nine-month period of 2025. However, the profit drop continued by the end of the year, with a decrease of 26%. Although the stock price has shown an upward trend in the past month, it is still significantly below the 82.08 TL level it tested in July 2024.
Anadolu Efes ranks second in the list with a market value of 85 billion TL. The company's agenda includes the issue of the trustee appointed for its joint venture in Russia. The temporary management appointed last September has changed the title and logo of the subsidiary. Although there has been no change in the ownership structure, the company no longer actively contributes to consolidated financial statements. The stock price is currently 50% below the 30.22 TL level seen in July 2024.
Ersu Gıda is the company with the lowest market value in the sector at 661 million TL. The company has continuously reported losses over the past three years, and despite a 6% increase in revenue reported in its most recent nine-month balance sheet, it continues to incur losses.
